Core Workout: Why it Matters?

Imagine this: you are running in a race and you get towards the end and you get tired and really slow down your times drop drastically. The good news is that having a strong core can prevent this from happening.  A solid core can make you a faster runner in about a week. It is important to take into account that there other variables that make a runner fast.

The biggest reason why the core matters is because it contributes greatly to a good running posture. This lead to greater efficiency with the motion of the legs. When you do your core workout you want to do it 3-5 times a week.  Generally speaking you want to do your core workout after recovery runs or your long run. The most import core exercise for a runner is the plank. You want to work up to one minute , once you reach one minute work up two.You want to make sure you include the side plank as well. Include push ups as well as diamond push ups. You want to work up to 10. If your pretty good at doing these workouts then do another set or two.
